As governor of Massachusetts, Adams appoints Samuel Henry as “Ensign of a Company in the third Regiment of the Second Brigade, Seventh Division of the Militia of this Commonwealth.” Boldly signed in the left margin by Governor Adams and countersigned at the bottom by John Avery. Matted and framed with an engraved portrait to an overall size of 28″ x 16.5″. In very good to fine condition, with splitting along the intersecting folds. An ideal, bold autograph from the Revolutionary leader.
