King George appoints William Lowry Craig Knight as a “Consul-General for the liwas of Basra, Muntafiq, Diwaniya, Amara and Kut” for the encouragement of trade with Iraq. Signed in the upper left by King George VI, and countersigned by future British Prime Minister Anthony Eden.
