Queen Victoria appoints Edward Laws to be an “Ensign in Our Sixteenth Regiment of Foot.” Signed neatly in the upper left by the queen, and countersigned below by George Cornewall Lewis. Light blue paper seal affixed directly below the queen’s signature.
